Natalie & Donovan. University of Alberta Botanic Garden Wedding.

Aga Khan Garden wedding photos

Natalie and Donovan’s unique love story began in the very place where they were wed in early September. It was during a promo photoshoot at the University of Alberta Botanic Garden where they first met. From that make-believe wedding grew a connection and ultimately true love!

Natalie & Donovan have a beautiful and fascinating love story: “We met 5 years ago at the University of Alberta botanic garden doing a wedding promotional photoshoot. I was in a wedding dress and he was wearing a suit. It was a hot beautiful summer day, we took photos for 3 hours together. Although our original plans of getting married in Scotland didn’t happen because of covid, we had a beautiful wedding in the location where our love story began.”

Talk about a meet-cute beginning! How magical they were able to bring everything full circle in spite of having to change their original plan.

Natalie and Donovan made my job easy! Not only because the camera loves these two gorgeous models but because their beautiful connection shines through in every look and touch they share.

“Donovans favorite moment was after the ceremony, when we were walking down the aisle together, feeling the relief and enjoying the moment.”

“Natalie’s favorite moment was everyone coming together to share our special day with us despite covid times. Taking photos in the various beautiful garden locations reminded me of the first day we met.”

Alison & Scott. Wedding at The Country Lodge. Scottish Wedding.

Edmonton Scottish Wedding

This day was full of so many incredible, fun moments. From the emotional first look, to the beautiful ceremony, to the bellydancer performances at reception and the dance party that tore up the floors at The Country Lodge! And of course, another highlight was the wedding party’s processional lead by a bagpiper, through the streets of downtown Edmonton, from All Saints Anglican Cathedral to Sherlock Homes Pub !

This is what the couple had to say about their special day “One of our favourite parts was being led by Alastair with the bag pipes in down town to Sherlock’s after the ceremony. We love the bagpipes and walking with our wedding party was definitely a cherished moment. We also loved the first look, it was really special to have a moment between us and appreciate each other before getting wrapped up in the big day. We also enjoyed tearing up the dance floor, watching Leslie the belly dancer, and playing around with the the sparklers at night!”

Jill & Nathan. Woodland and Wildflower Wedding

Woodland and Wildflower Wedding

An unforgettable wedding with Jill & Nathan at Woodland + Wildflower Weddings! Nothing stopped this day from being perfect from beginning to end. Not even the torrential rain that delayed their ceremony. More than once it had us running for cover but the sun came out in full force in the end and shined for the whole of their I Do’s. We were then treated to a beautiful night for their open-air reception. So happy to have been able to photograph this beautiful couple and capture their laid-back wedding day at this gorgeous location!

Their special day was as fun and relaxed as the couple themselves and the personal vows at their intimate ceremony made most of the guests shedding a few tears. The couples tears were ones of joy and elation.

Suzanne & Cam’s June Engagement Shoot.

It’s a snowy day in Edmonton so I decided what better day to blog Suzanne & Cam’s June engagement shoot! After a snowstorm on the weekend, it’s nice to look back on photos full of green leaves and giggles… Enjoy!

Suzanne and Cam we’re the best at doing the dip. I credit them for the fact that the above photo was chosen for an engagement photo award from Wedding Photojournalist Association.

St. Joachim Catholic Church Wedding. Mary & Elijah’s Traditional Filipino Wedding.

Modern downtown wedding

Mary & Elijah were married on a beautiful fall day in October surrounded by so much support and affection from friends and family. This incredible couple’s special day was full of beautiful Filipino wedding traditions and culture, lots of laughter, emotion and celebration. Plus a little art and a lot of love!

Their ceremony included many Filipino wedding traditions including incorporating important guests as wedding Sponsors, the coin, veil and cord ceremonies and the lighting of the unity candle. Elijah also chose to wear the traditional groom’s attire of the Barong, a lightweight shirt traditionally worn for formal events.

“Lauren was so great to work with! She did our engagement and wedding photos. My husband and I have never done any photo shoots before so we were a little nervous about our engagement photos, but Lauren made us feel really comfortable with her, and we got a chance to bond with her. She is an amazing person! The engagement photos were stunning! It’s been a year since then and I still look at them every week!

Now onto planning our wedding day photos! Lauren was super super helpful with choosing photo locations, even going as far as scouting one of the locations to make sure I was happy with the background!

Day of the wedding, Lauren was with us all day, from getting ready to getting rowdy! Our wedding was full of traditions, and she captured all of em, perfectly! She was such a joy to work with! Everyone loved her!

My husband’s words:
Lauren’s photographs captured the nuances and the grandeur of our most special day together. When we first looked at our wedding photographs we were eased back into the warmth of nostalgia – a most beautiful fleeting day – documented with the care, sentiment and artistry of our photographers. I know we will feel this way every time we happen upon them in our journey. From the bottom of our hearts – thank you.

Thank you for blessing us with your talent!”

Jennifer & Blake. Millcreek Ravine Engagement Shoot.

MillCreek Ravine Engagement Session

It may have been chilly these two took it in stride and I couldn’t love this session more! I had such a fun Millcreek Ravine engagement shoot with Jennifer & Blake in the fall. Also, I just can’t get over how cute Meeko is!

If you’ve never been photographed by a professional photographer you may be unsure of what to expect. The engagement session helps to get those nerves out of the way before the big day. Most of my couples remark after the shoot that they thought they would feel really awkward and stiff but that in fact they felt comfortable, relaxed and had a great time with us. I love hearing that!
